Note the spring loaded breech block stop, part numbers SS11 and SS12. That was later changed to a solid pin that was inserted in the frame as a solid piece.
Note also that the grip frame is part number SS3. It differs from the normal XR3-RED grip frame in that it has a wide trigger slot.
In Bill Ross's book "Flattops and Super Blackhawks" there is a pic of a transition .357 Blackhawk with "SS3" stamped on the side of the grip frame. I long wondered if that grip frame was once part of Ruger's R&D for the Hawkeye, but don't remember if the gun in the pic had a wide trigger slot or not.
