For your viewing pleasure,
I recently acquired this interesting piece through an estate, no history or info was available. It is intriguing because its a three screw with stainless parts. If anybody has any thoughts as to who the engraver may be please share as I could find no letters or symbols, but perhaps I don't know what to look for.
My best guess is what I have here is an OM single six 1971 vintage which was nicely engraved on the barrel, cylinder and cylinder frame and then nickeled . A stainless steel xr3 grip frame, Mag cylinder and e rod were installed and the grips checkered. A nicely executed project by someone with talent. I didn't think xr3 grip frames were manufactured in ss but here it is.
Waiting for a factory letter for whatever info that provides, if they can even find it in the archives.
I have other Rugers they couldn't or wouldn't letter.

Hello Pettey88,
It is difficult to tell anything about this gun because the photos are too small, maybe there is a way to enlarge them on here but, I don't know how. I am curious about the grip frame, would you humor me and put a magnet to it and let me know if it sticks to it, therefore indicating that it is stainless steel, rather than plated or polished aluminum.
It has always been hard to determine who engraved a piece without an engravers mark, a lot of times the mark is hidden in the pattern somewhere on the gun. Some times the mark is under the ejector housing or on the frame in front of the trigger guard, or under the grips. A lot of these guns are not marked. Sometimes you can determine to some degree who engraved it by the style, or in some cases the way the cuts are executed. Interestingly, Jack Prudhomme marked his in several locations. Cole Agee marked a few with his name but, most are identified with an engraved cattle brand symbol, a circle with a line across it, meaning "bar none". Of course we are familiar with Jerred's stylized initials on his work. Robert Kaine marked his with a little walking cane. There are a lot of marks out there, this is a subject that could be discussed on here for weeks with just a frustrated outcome. Notwithstanding, that is the fun of collecting.
Regards, John

Follow up info,
It lettered as a single six convertible produced April 1971 in Southport and shipped to Udisco in Salt Lake City.
The 22 LR cylinder was not with it when I purchased it.
