That may be the only picture of Bill's father I ever saw. Seems like there might be a real small pic in Ruger and His Guns, but this one is by far the biggest and most clear pic. Thank you for posting it! Never read about the custody battle either.

Don, All I can say about your detective work is - WOW. These are some really undescribable pieces yyou have dug up. Although his dad might have been a bit "shady", how much of his dads and granddads intelligence/skills/etc.? were passed on and helped shape his foresight in the firearm area.
