Help identifing engraving

On the top strap of a Max (of course!) On the top strap, in script .....This "Buds" For You.....below it.....SMTC - 1983....Not necessarily interested in Who engraved it....but what does SMTate so I can't post any pics. Any help greatly appreciated, thanks, Jack.C mean? Computer illiter
