Super Bearcat with adjustable sights

Hello folks,
New to the website. Trying to determine if a Super Bearcat I picked up has been modified. All bearcats I’ve ever handled or seen have had the notch rear / blade front sights which were non adjustable. This one has a front sight reminiscent of a single six and a rear that looks a lot like an S&W K frame. The top strap is inletted for this sight, so it’s not just screwed on there; if Ruger didn’t do it, somebody who knew what they were doing did. Any info would be appreciated. I’ll try to post some pics in a bit.

Yes, Ruger made some with adjustable sights a while back. I don't know if it's still in production.

Ruger still lists it on their website, but in production... no. For the last few years Ruger has been concentrating on black guns, Wranglers and 10/22's.

Pics as promised/requested:
Ok, I lied. I took the photos but trying to upload, I got “file too large” and I don’t know how to dumb it down. Maybe my grandkids can help…:)

I can assert that according to Ruger.com, the SN aligns with a 1972 production date.

Well, if it's that old, then no, the adjustable sights are not factory.
