A Monkey Wrench in the Paper work John

I got my letter from Ruger today for The Ruger Standard Auto / Salt Cod box and it throws a Monkey wrench into the research!
Serial #2127 per Dougans book and his research tells a different story than Ruger Archives.
The letter states that 2127 was produced in November 1949 and shipped to the name on the Cod box in New Hampshire also in November of 1949!
Has Ruger archives dropped the ball?
Curious to See what the historians think?

I think the paperwork that came with 2127 fits with the letter. I never really thought otherwise. You should have it Monday! Glad a true collector got this pistol.

Hello Guys,

I went back and carefully reviewed the service records for #0144. It was replaced by #2627, not #2127. The writing is very small and the number 6 appears to the naked eye as a 1, I had to view it under a magnifying glass and the lower part on the 6 is not rounded. So, the information in Pistols & Revolvers is not correct, if you own one of these books just make a notation in the margin.

#0144 was originally shpd. 10/10/49
#0144 was received by service dept. 1/20/50
#2627 replaced #0144 shpd. 1/24/50

Everything else I have commented on regarding the replacement and scrapping is correct, except it all applies to #2627.

Please forgive me for my oversight, thank you guys for being persistent in bringing this issue to the correct conclusion.
