I recently bought an old model Blackhawk in 45LC, with a 45 ACP cylinder. The question is it has a brass frame, and I have found info saying the 45 with extra cylinder did not come with a brass frame. How do you tell if it's factory or after market? Thanks for any help.

There are two ways to determine if it came from the factory with a brass grip frame. One is, ask the factory to verify if it was shipped from the factory with a brass frame.

The second, there is a listing of most of the serial numbers in Ruger Pistols & Revolvers. Maybe one of us can look it up for you, you will need to let us know the exact serial number on the gun.
