not sure that there ever was an answer to this question, but I have just acquired one of these and it is number 24...look at the left side panel engraving and it should be engraved just below the RCA logo

I know there was some brief discussion of these rifles here back in 2009, but there isn't much information anywhere else that I can find.
I take it these were ""subscription"" guns of a sort, and the fellow who started the 2009 thread here mentions having #13.
I have come into possession of one of these rifles, but do not see any unusual numbers anywhere on the gun, and unfortunately the only paperwork in the box is the owner's manual. There are two names on the mailing label on the box. Does anyone recognize the names Ken Starbard or John Wentzell as RCA members back in the early '80s? If so, how would I determine their membership numbers?
I appreciate any information on this rifle that I can garner, as I like to know as much as I can about any new Ruger single shot I acquire.
Thanks,
Lance

UPDATE Upon getting this home and inspecting it more closely, I see that it is number 12 in the series.
Does this mean it went to the person with RCA membership number 12, or simply that it was the 12th one produced?
Also, it has a stamp on the top of the box near the address label that says ""From: Warehouse, 690 Arctic St., Bridgeport, CT

I kept hoping a No. 1 collector would come along and give you some info. What I understand is that there were only 50 of these believed produced so they are rare. Not sure about the #12 on your gun, it could be a member's number I guess or #12 in the lot of 50 guns. I hope someone will give you some more information.

Thanks for the reply. I've found out a little information, but not much, and it appears that there really isn't much information out there about these rifles.

I tried to contact Jay Hansen, the RCA person who should know the most about the 10th Anniversay guns, but he never responded to my email.
The only thing I really would like to know is who might have ordered this 12th anniversay rifle.

I am still trying to find out who might have originally ordered rifle #12 of this issue.
Any help is appreciated. Thanks.
