Discover. Are you looking to collect Ruger No. 3 rifles, or shoot them? Hopefully another RCA collector will respond to your needs. I only own one No. 3 in .44 Magnum and it is not currently for sale. The No. 3 rifle is not discussed in the Clayton book. I do not know of any books with the information you seek. Very few people collect them, compared to the No. 1 rifles. Good luck in your search. Brass Frame/Lee

CL R, A fellow Collector named Chad Hiddelston has a book out with all the Ruger info you are looking for on rifles and pistols...Google RENE and get his book. The #3's are neat little collectibles, the hardest is probably the 44 Mag then the 45-70, the 30-40 Kraig, then 22 Hornet, and last the 223. Look on Gunbroker and GunsAmerica and pound those gun shows and shops near you! RB

Discover Chad's book does cover the Number 3. I am pretty sure he sends a 8.5x11 Printed copy when you first sign up for his Red Eagle News Exchange. I am not sure if he has any copy's of it in the small book form left or not.

Send me an e-mail at Ruger1nut@aol.com and I can get you in touch with him.

I do know of a guy or two that do collect them but like Lee said, the interest ins not as great as for Number Ones

That keeps the price down but also the information

I love No. 3s and have been accumulating them for a while now. Bought a new one (.223) in 1981, and still have it today. I'm currently only missing the .44 & the .22 Hornet to make up a complete collection of all calibers.
