0 Replies and 4179 Views BN34 Grips  4179  0 Started by  Boschloper Hello to the forum. I have been reading here for some time, but just registered this evening. I have a question about a .357 Blackhawk that I purchased used last November. Serial number is 33-01958. The grips that came on it don't match, I am assuming one or both is a replacement, and I am wondering what variation of medallion is correct for this vintage gun. I will attach a picture and describe here. The left grip medallion has a silver bird with neck feathers, the SR logo and a black bac...

0 Replies and 3730 Views Stainless Bicentennial Single-Six  3730  0 Started by  Buckstone I bought a Stainless Bicentennial Single-Six brand new when I was 18. it has recently come to my attention that most New Model Single-Sixes had unfluted WMR cylinders by 1976. My Bicentennial has a fluted WMR cylinder. The .22 LR cylinder also has the recessed groove in th firing pin area. On other forums I've asked if anyone else has Bicentennial Single-Six with the fluted magnum cylinder and have received no responses. I was just wondering if I have kind of a rare bird here. I bought it new, ...

0 Replies and 3917 Views .357 Max 10 1/2" bbl  3917  0 Started by  RugerHound Interesting one here... Found a .357 Max with the 10.5 in barrel that looked like it'd be a great shooter. The piece looks very nice, high polish bluing and what appear to be custom grips. Wrote to Ruger to find the ship date, & lo and behold they say it shipped as a BNM-7, not a BNM-10! Looks like this one's been doctored or Ruger got their records wrong! Has anyone ever found instances where Rugers records dept were wrong about an as-shipped configuration Sadly, no box or shipper ...

0 Replies and 4572 Views Cowboy Conversion?  4572  0 Started by  cabinroe I picked up a new model single six at a local pawn shop that was 1 of a pair. I think they'd been used for cowboy action shooting since they had imitation stag grips and the right hand gun had almost all the bluing worn off the shell extractor housing. Upon firing, the bullets seemed to lack velocity and two of the six hulls had split down the sides. A couple of the others.were bulged. Do you think someone.bored out the cylinders thinking they could reload faster What action do you suggest to b...

0 Replies and 3241 Views Blackhawk .357 Maximum  3241  0 Started by  RugerHound Found a nifty Blackhawk .357 Maximum, 2nd year run that looks to be in amazing shape. I'm quite sure it's unfired, although someone's played with the cylinder enough to put a drag line on it. (they must have liked the nice wide hammer!) No box, no papers, but it sure is crispy. 0 Replies and 4482 Views Re: Maximum Buy-Back Program??  4482  0 Started by  Anonymous &91quote=''Coogs''&93Over the years I've heard lots of rumors, a buyback program, cash for your Max, and along the same lines, a Trade-in program. Send back your Max, and you got a .44 Super, of corresponding barrel length, of course. Any one out there have any PROOF of such a program If you do, please let me know. I'm looking for the paperwork that was involved with such a program as well as the firearm itself. Early on during the short lived retail life of the Max, that is while R...

0 Replies and 4548 Views Horizontal cuts between cylinder notches  4548  0 Started by  Doc Nonverbal Hello all, The last several stainless steel Ruger revolvers I've purchased have had very small horizontal lines cut between the cylinder notches. There are always more than one, usually four to six together right between the notches, as if the cylinder latch is skipping over the cylinder, nicking it as it goes. I just picked up two stainless Blackhawk Flattop .45LC/.45ACP Lipsey's exclusives and sure enough, they have the same marks. They're a bit too deep to buff out, so I'm stuck with them...

0 Replies and 3488 Views Lipsey's .45 Colt/.45 ACP FT  3488  0 Started by  Hobie I know y'all know about these guns and I doubt one looks much different from the other. Personally, I'd have preferred that this be the first out on the NM FT frame than the .44 Special (but, yes, I've got one each of those in 4-5/8'' and 5-1/2'') as I like the .45 Colt better. It is a bit of a rough action you can feel in cocking but the trigger is ok and outside looks well fit and finished. The grips feel good in the hand but they are a bit proud, although evenly so, at the butt. Mine arri...
