0 Replies and 309 Views Value of a Ruger Single Six RSS5W w/ Factory Letter?  309  0 Started by  SpaceCowby43 I recently purchased a Old Model Ruger Single Six revolver and, at the recommendation of several post here, sent off to Ruger to find out if it was a Model RSS5W or a RSS5X that was missing the magnum cylinder. I just got the Ruger letter back and it confirms that my Single Six was issued in 1968 as a RSS5W (Long Rifle Only) Model. My question now is...How much does it being the RSS5W Model and having the Ruger letter add to the value of the pistol As a almost mint OM Single SIx with no...

0 Replies and 737 Views .41 Magnum Brass frame  737  0 Started by  skeeterz180 Hello all, any Info or advice is appreciated. I have a .41 magnum Blackhawk with factory brass fame and the 6.5in barrel ser 40-220xx. The gentleman i bought it from is an old customer of mine. He told me he bought it and never altered it. the gun is as close to new condition as I've seen for 45 years old. i'm an avid shooter not a collector. I sent for the letter from Ruger about 2 weeks ago. Any ideas what it may be worth or anyone who may want to add it to their collection Thank you.

0 Replies and 1078 Views Growing Addiction .44MAG SBH Mahogany, White Box, Black Box  1078  0 Started by  LIBERTY FOREVER The addiction bug bites hard! I've been bitten by the Old Model Super Blackhawk Bug. Once you get started you can't stop, I'm constantly looking for mahogany's, white boxes and black and red boxes. After you get all the variations of the ''Mahogany'' cased guns (6 altogether) you need to find the two variations of the ''White Boxed'' guns. Then about 15 to 20 of the ''Black and Red'' boxed guns. There you will find a couple of very rare guns. a couple of ''S'' guns and 2 ''Brass Framed'' guns.Th...

0 Replies and 1369 Views Old Model Single Six Cylinder Questions  1369  0 Started by  RSSSSSSBH I have some questions regarding Single Sixes. I am wondering what year Ruger began to number the Long Rifle Cylinders I know that the Mag Cylinders are typically numbered, and that the Mag Cylinders are more commonly lost. I'd like to try and get the correct ''type'' of cylinder, matching the age of the revolver, and wonder if there is a time of unnumbered LR Cylinders, that would be a better match than the Newer Numbered Cylinders. I do realize that the Old Model LR Cylinders have a Firing Pin...

0 Replies and 1906 Views Holy Grail Just Spotted  1906  0 Started by  Williamb I just saw a factory engraved Ruger Single-Six Jerred engraved pistol for sale. I have never ever seen one for sale and especially on one of the common auction sites. The seller Jackthedog gets incredible items for sale. I don't know how he does it. I usually follow his auctions just to understand what items are selling for but this Single-Six really has my interest. Wondering if anyone else has seen it

0 Replies and 5624 Views To be or not to be, that is the question.  5624  0 Started by  Facklerrebel Just acquired a 1961-1962 vintage Old Model Ruger Single Six. Thought I had issues with the firing pin, but a phone call to Ruger Customer Service cleared my confusion and it appears there is no problem at all. Of course the acid test, is a live fire which I have not done to date, but plan to soon. The question is, Ruger urged me to send it in for a free upgrade to a New Model. Will this not devalue the pistol, since a, they don't make it anymore, and b, it will not be original either. Thanks fo...
