Any pointers on how to assess it's originality would be appreciated. And perhaps value as well. I don't have it in my possession as of this writing. It will arrive next week. Thank you in advance for your assistance. Mark

0 Replies and 175 Views 1982 RCA Mk II  175  0 Started by  Bullet Bob I recently purchased this unfired Ruger Collectors Association Mark II .22 with ivory grips, the RCA logo scrimshawed on one panel, and the RCA logo filled in with gold on the top of the receiver. I bought it from a fairly large retailer who had purchased several Ruger .22 pistols from an estate. It has the cardboard Ruger Collector Association box, and wooden ''salt cod'' box, but no other paperwork. I contacted Ruger, and their reply told me it was made in 1982, the first year of Mk II pro...

0 Replies and 218 Views 1949 ruger standard  218  0 Started by  Salem06420 Hi everyone. I have a chance to purchase a 1949 ruger standard serial number 05XX. I know it's hard to determine condition of a gun based on what I tell you without pictures but I'd say it's in better than fair condition. As a long time ruger fan it would be very cool to have a gun that came out the original ruger shop 70 years ago, nevermind one of the first few hundred guns ruger ever made. I'm having a hard time locking down a realistic price for what this gun is worth and need some expertise...

0 Replies and 604 Views 1954 Ruger MKI  604  0 Started by  Moparclan Just got a Ruger MKI made in 1954 with a Ruger muzzle brake installed. Very nice conditon and paid $400 for it, good buy or not Interested in what kind of box these came in. Have lots of Rugers including my dad's 1957 .44 mag Blackhawk with box and papers. All of his older Rugers have the boxes and papers with them. Great collection, I would rather have him back though. Thanks

0 Replies and 617 Views Ruger Standard ???  617  0 Started by  huskerbob I own a Ruger Mark III and yesterday added this Ruger Standard to my gun safe. Based on the S/N it was built in 1981. It has the 6'' barrel. At some point in it's life someone switched out the grips and unfortunately, the original grips didn't come to me with the gun. I did get the original box which is in very good condition and two mags. One appears original the second is an aftermarket version. The bluing on the gun is in very good condition. Hoping one of you more experienced Ruger folks ...

0 Replies and 1989 Views 1957 Standard looks like one of the NRA display Wheel Pistols  1989  0 Started by  roadglide100 Came across this 1957 Standard, RST6. Looks like 1 of Black Eagle Chrome wheel display pistols. It has blued bolt, safety, front & rears sights, bolt stop as well as the trigger. Correct right slot only magazine. Far from perfect but unusual.

I haven’t found much, haven’t seen any pics of another like it. I read an article saying that MKI 4” targets were made, but haven’t seen another. I did find that it was made in 1976, according to Ruger customer support page. Any other info would be greatly appreciated. &91img&93&91/img&93 Pistol is in perfect condition, but sadly, there was no box to be had. Tha...

With original shipping box, original red Ruger cardboard box and manual. The gun has never been fired. Seemingly bought and put away. Sold through Swanton's Rexall Drug store in Vermont, the distributor was Hansen and Company also of Vermont, both still in business.

0 Replies and 2132 Views Ruger Mark II Government Target Model (Stainless Steel)  2132  0 Started by  BarkeyVA I saw a stainless steel Mark II Government Target Model with a 6-7/8'' bull barrel, serial number 219-524xx at a local gun shop that I think was made in 1993. Is there anything ''special'' about this model It has a few small superficial scratches on the barrel. Minimal grip wear. Asking price is $369, and the least he will take for it is $350. I am curious to know if that price is reasonable. A few government models (blued steel) on GB are listed at $500.

0 Replies and 1604 Views Government Target MKIII MK I I I 678G  1604  0 Started by  JudahBenHur Hi all. I recently did a trade off of armslist and came away with a Ruger MK III Government Target Model 678G. Serial number is 227-04686. It's in almost perfect shape, with box and mags. I've been on a couple of the Ruger forums (both .com and .net) and the nice people there have helped me a bit with the gun's origins, how rare it is (less than 200 made), etc. For an unknown reason, I can't seem to register on rimfirecentral, where people talk about this ''unicorn'' gun quite a bit. Either way,...

Serial No 272xx (1952), that I estimate is in 90 condition. On the left side of the gun there are very small areas of wear on the front edge of the blade sight ring and barrel at the muzzle. Also a very small area of wear on the front edge of the receiver and a few very shallow scratches between the front of the receiver and RUGER stamp. There are a few small scratches/dings (exposed bare metal) around the pin above the trigger and a c...

0 Replies and 2313 Views Ruger Standard Automatic .22 "Red Eagle" S/N 8???  2313  0 Started by  RevJet Hello Everyone! I am brand new to this forum. I joined specifically to get information about a Ruger pistol I recently acquired at a local gun show in Ohio. It is a Ruger Standard Automatic with ''red eagle'' grips. No box or other paperwork was included. The serial number on the side of the receiver is “8”. The size of the “8” is noticeably larger than the serial number on my other red eagle firearm (with a five digit s/n). The seller indicated that he owned the pistol for about 10 years...

0 Replies and 2843 Views P89P  2843  0 Started by  stwbll Last week I acquired a pistol that has thrown me for a loop. The slide has P89P stamped on it, but the configuration and the serial number (311-97699) says that it is a P95DAO. I was wondering if there was anyone in this forum that might be able to shed some light on this for me or may have seen one of these before I have attached a picture so you can see the slide stamp and the serial number.

0 Replies and 2497 Views Fully Engraved 50th Anniv. MkII  2497  0 Started by  4/12/2002 Gentlemen, I just purchased a fully engraved MK450 MKII mfg. in 1999. The quality of the engraving causes me to wonder if it wasn't a company presentation pistol. Does anyone have knowledge of this I know certain very special weapons were exquisitely engraved for Bill Ruger, among others in the company and as gifts to special individuals. I wonder if this isn't something along that line. Thanks in advance for any help or suggestions. John
