Mini 14 #5832 rarity?

Post by TDT » Tue Mar 20, 2018 8:06 am

I am a newbie, and I have a question about a mini 14 I recently purchased from my gunsmith. This piece shipped in Dec. 2012 according to Ruger's serial # history service. It is a Law Enforcement model # 5832. SS/Syn, 16"04 barrel w/flash hider. The unique feature is a factory installed, and Ruger branded, Amega tactical rail, that runs from the receiver to the top part of the gas block, ( it actually serves as the top half of the gas block ). This rifle is in excellent condition, no dings and a perfect bore. My question is; should I enjoy shooting this rifle or should I be more concerned about it's collector value? I look forward to your replies, and thank you in advance.

Welcome aboard! Not a rifle guy, so I don't think I would be of much help. Years ago I can tell you that Ruger did offer certain products ONLY through Police distributors. If they still do today, I'm not sure. Hopefully someone will pop up and give you some answers, Coogs.
