RSSM X

Post by d findley » Tue Oct 08, 2013 9:34 am

The tale of the shipping carton. Side of book wrap reads:
RSSM--X (I'm assuming X for 2 cylinders)
SINGLE--SIX
.22 WMR--WALNUT (for walnut grip panels)

Letter comes back "RSSM, no extra cylinder. Can't confirm grips. Shipped June 1959".
I believe manufactured 59 & shipped in 60s.

That is one great shipper!! I agree that the "X" most certainly meant extra cylinder. Too bad we can't get into the records and/or day-book to really research it. Still a good find.
