Ruger Single Six GKNR-4F

Post by PaulT » Sat Oct 06, 2018 5:49 pm

Just picked up an ultra rare Single Six. It is highly polished SS, 4-5/8" barrel with fixed sights. The dealer told me that it came out of a large collection he recently purchased. I am looking for any information that will help verify that there were only 3 of these actually manufactured and sold. Catalog #: GKNR-4F

Thanks,
Paul

Welcome aboard! I am not sure of the production numbers. The Box and/or shipper sleeve are marked "G"KNR? What is the serial #? Pics will help. You would be smart to get a letter from Ruger, at least call and confirm the model #. They will not give you any ideas as far as production numbers go. I have some more info at home, not much.......hope this helped. Jack.

Paul,
There are five known GKNR-4F revolvers in two variations. The first four guns have the warning roll mark on the left side of the barrel with Southport address, #268-20540 -268-20542 -268-20543-268-20549, the fifth gun ser. #268-57505 has the WRM on the bottom of the barrel with a Newport address.

I own the lowest known (so far) GKNR-4F serial #268-20540 which was shipped June 1998. I also own it's consecutive mate which is a model KRB-24FW serial #268-20539 (1 of 945) which was shipped in August 2002,,four years later! Both guns came out of the Hiddleson Collection. Also two of the original four guns are also consecutive to one another.

Congratulations!,your gun would be the 6th known example and I would be interested in your guns serial # and which WRM is on your gun. I will post some further info & pictures for you later today if I get time.

Here is an old from RF with pictures.
