New member showing off his early Ruger pistols

Post by n64atlas » Mon Mar 03, 2014 12:47 pm

Hi everyone:
I picked the 514 up this past weekend and the Red Eagle Standard about a year ago.
Had a 1971 bullbarrel back in the 70's that I bought new. Traded it off in the late 70's for a 1911. Should have hung on to it, but I was young and the pistols were cheap back then.
Think I paid $73.50 for the bullbarrel Mark I. Anyway, here are the two I just got:

Yes a nice pair of pistols.

That Mark I T-514 is one rare critter! Hard to tell in your pics but possibly a tapered ear bolt. Look at the rear most part of the bolt. If two piece you should see an arc of about 300 degrees connected with a straight line. Sort of a round peg in a sort of round hole making a key/lock, if that makes sense. Korean war steel shortage. Rare only made for 1952-54 and started at serial #27000 to 30000. Nice extra grips too.
