1957 Standard looks like one of the NRA display Wheel Pistols

Post by roadglide100 » Tue Mar 06, 2018 5:49 pm

Came across this 1957 Standard, RST6. Looks like 1 of Black Eagle Chrome wheel display pistols. It has blued bolt, safety, front & rears sights, bolt stop as well as the trigger. Correct right slot only magazine. Far from perfect but unusual.

Nice find! But over the years there have been many of the "wheel" pistols show up. The are very rare, but, but, even rarer to document. Get a hold of Ruger, but TALK to someone, don't just send the paper work in. Unusual finishes are hard to document. Hopefully John Dougan will see this and give you some better insight than I, Jack.

Is the serial number on your gun one of the following?
118088
118328
118334
118425
118499
118500
118708
118734

There were 8 in Ruger's chrome "wheel", but there were 9 or 10 reportedly made. 118709 may be another of these.
