I have an engraved Super Blackhawk I've owned for over 40 years. According to Ruger it was shipped in Oct of 69. I was told it had not been fired and can vouch that I haven't ever fired it. It came in what appears to be a black leather presentation case, with blue velvet lining. I haven't a clue who the engraver might be. I've attached photos in hopes someone could give some indication as to it's worth.
Welcome aboard! That is very nice! Did Ruger confirm that it shipped engraved? I'm not real big on old models but my impression is that it was done aftermarket. If your were to research some of the top engravers of that period you may be able to determine what their "engraved" signature was as all the good ones usually signed their work somewher in the scrolling on the gun. JMHO, Coogs.
