FBI National Academy Revolver

How many FBI National Academy Model 717 50th anniversary revolvers did Ruger make? Are they considered a collectible? Some appear to have more engraving than others. Were there two grades? Current cost range? SeniorEngineer

I don't know exact numbers, but RENE Reference of Ruger Firearms shows that they were made in 3 different styles, no engraving, 1/3 engraved coverage and 2/3 engraved coverage. They were produced in 1984. It appears that there were 30 made with the 2/3 coverage. All came with a variety of presentation cases with or without a matching FBI Academy Mini-14 rifle.

Prices, who knows? But I would expect them to bring a pretty good premium if they were sold.
