Please help

Post by reineke4 » Sat Feb 18, 2017 5:33 pm

I inherited a Ruger when my husband passed. I was hoping someone could give me some info. I did go online to ruger.com as well. I am sending away for a letter of authenticity. In the meantime their website suggested that I also try RCA for info.

From what I can read on the barrel of the rifle is Sturm, Ruger and Co. I can't see a model number. There is a serial # 130-56418. I was told by family that it is a .22 Hornet. It is a lever action. This is all I know.

I appreciate your help.

Looks like it is a Model 3A made in 1976 according to the Reference of Ruger Firearms. It is also called a Ruger #3. It should also say somewhere on it "Made in the 200th Year of liberty" or something to that effect. As for the value, I have no idea. It is actually a single shot rifle, the lever is to eject the round (fired or not) or to open the action for loading.
