Good Morning. Came across this Flat Top in a Pawn Shop. No one seems to be able to identify the Serial Number. Any Help is appreciated.

rugerman58,

Wow, that is different. Is this accurate as stamped? ( 2400_012 *)

What is stamped on other side? Is it still .44 mag? The ATF used to put numbers and symbols on guns with obliterated serial numbers.

Grips are obviously new and doubt factory. What do they look like on inside? Still have its original XR3 grip frame?

Interesting to say the least.

Stolen gun at one time? ATF reserialization? Who knows?

Thanks for the suggestions and insight. Pawn Shop owner has agreed to contact the former owner in an attempt to get a little more back ground on it. Obviously it passed the "gun check" so if it was stolen at one time it is no longer on the list. Will add post if and when I get more info.
