got a question. Just purchased a Ruger Bearcat old model #59xxx. I know what an alphabet bearcat is but this one has an S stamped on the frame in front of the trigger guard. Could it be a factory second or salesmens sample. Can ayone help

Hello John,

Your assumption is correct, the S in that location would indicate Seconds. They are more commonly marked on the side of the frame, both examples are rare and highly sought after. The factory may be able to verify the S (seconds) in a letter.

Regards, John
