The favorite Factory Engraved Single-Six in my collection is "Spanish" engraved #5100. It is the first serial number in the group of 20 consecutive numbered Single-Sixes (#5100 - #5119) sent to Spain for engraving at the beginning of Bill Ruger's engraving program. This group of guns was shipped to Spain in December 1954 and all but one were returned in September 1955 (#5103 was returned earlier in June 1955). #5100 was shipped to "Sports Inc., IL on September 18, 1956.

It is not hard to figure out why that is your favorite engraved Single Six. Beautiful gun.

Re: MY FAVORITE ENGRAVED SINGLE-SIX
WOW! I was always partial to the backstrap engraving on this piece. 101% coverage
Now that Bill has shown us #5100, I wonder just how many of the 20 Spanish RSSE's we could get pictures of on this site!! That would be a site(and sight) to behold.

Re: MY FAVORITE ENGRAVED SINGLE-SIX
I've been chasing this one for WAY TOO LONG......
S/N 5106 It's had hundreds of "bricks" of .22's go down the barrel. Still, It is what it is!!!

I just can't convince the owner to let me keep it for a while!
Here's another. S/N 5111. It belongs to a sorta famous Super Blackhawk Collector from Utah...

Here's a pic I downloaded years ago. S/N 5113. I do NOT recall the particulars.

Carl,
You need to find something on that dude so you can blackmail him into selling you that old Spanish. The ivories on Steve's gun really set it off. I believe the last one you pictured is Budd's gun. Very interesting story behind how he got that gun. I believe that it was also a pattern gun for the Jerred engraved guns too.
Great guns!! Thanks for posting the pictures.
