Re: box maintenance

As the price drops substantially for any "repaired" box, my philosophy is to repair them in such a fashion that they can still be used for storage and display. I go to Staples and buy the white heavy poster paper and, using the old box, measure out a template for cutting and folding a new box that w...

Re: NEW MEMBER NEEDS ASSISTANCE

Good advice! I do the same a few times a year. The "market" sets the price for anything; you'll find out real quick where the market is by listing on those sites. But be realistic. I sold a cardboard box of ammo this past weekend that wasn't really that old for almost $500 at a local gun show. At th...

Re: Need some advice on a 1954 Single Six with Ivory grips

Hey, that's a beauty!

If you ever tire of it please let me know, I need one just like that to fill out my collection.

I also might have something to trade.

Thanks! Enjoy it!

Re: Alphabet Bearcat Cyliner

There's a guy at the Chantilly Va gunshow that has two or three. I'll check it out next show for you. Another options is to buy a ratty Bearcat for $150-$200 and part it out. Probably cover your costs and then some. I've seen a few of those as well lately. Send me a PM so I have your contact info. T...

Re: Looking foe a couple of Single Sixes

Don't get discouraged! I've seen more rare Rugers sitting on tables at gunshows and in hole-the-wall gun shops in the past two years than I have in the past 20. My rule when traveling is to carry cash and always give an extra hour or two for travel time and never, ever drive past a gun store! Good l...

Re: Food for thought on Harrisburg Show

Yes, the former promoter was anti-gun. They've since given up the rights to the show. The NRA is now the show promoter/sponsor and they really know how to run an event of this scale. Almost 1,000 vendors already signed up. Should be one of the best, and biggest, event of it's type east of the Missis...

Food for thought on Harrisburg Show

Not to stir the pot or step on anybody's toes, but just some food for thought here: I've been reading about the big Harrisburg Sportsman Show that is coming up soon and is now being run by NRA. From the looks of things, this promises to really be a big event this year. Many firearms manufacturers an...
