Welcome, Those Police Service Six's are nice but I agree that would not be my load of choice. 10-22's may be the most fun to shoot 22 on the planet.

The only sure way to know would be to get a letter from the factory on it. They sometimes make up complete rifles from parts/frames that they have had for years. I once had a 22 Hornet that was "made" in 1973 or 1974. In fact the letter said it shipped well into the 80's The frame had just been sitt...

welcome. You have a nice rifle in that one. I do not know how many were made in that caliber/configuration but they are neither rare nor common.

Welcome to the forum. Your Number One certainly sounds intriguing. I can offer a couple incite. All early non-prefix rifles did in fact have Douglas barrels. That said I have never seen one still so marked. Second is Ruger did in fact do a run of 38-55's but it was many years later. It was a 1S conf...
